Can guinea pigs eat Avocado?

Mmmm…avocado.  You’ve got to love it as a human.  But can guinea pigs eat avocado?

Unfortunately the answer to this one should be no.  Guinea pigs should not eat avocado as avocado is high in fat, and guinea pigs need to stay away from fat and eat more fiber.  Instead of avocado, make sure you’re feeding your guinea pig high quality timothy hay, fresh and clean water, as well as vitamin c fortified guinea pig pellets.  This along with a sensible amount of fresh vegetables, and the occasional fruit as a treat (just don’t feed too much as their is a lot of sugar in fruit) and you’ll be on your way to a healthy and happy guinea pig.

So, can guinea pigs eat avocado?  No…guinea pigs should not eat avocado.

Hope this was helpful.  Thanks for stopping by, and we hope to see you again real soon.

Till next time…love those piggies….
