Best ways to remove fur from clothes and furniture!

Best ways to remove fur from clothes and furniture!

Do you ever get a look at yourself walking out the door and sigh, wondering how to get that fur off your office clothes? Or maybe your friend stops by, and hesitates to sit, then you notice the furry couch? If you are like me, you have become so used to fur on everything that you hardly notice it.  But if you do need to remove the fur from your clothes and furniture, sticky rollers are so yesterday. Sticky rollers to the trick, but if you have furry family members that shed a lot, you can go through an awful lot of sticky tape to get the job done. Not very eco-friendly, and kind of a pain in the neck to keep finding more sticky tape.

These suggestions last longer, end up being cheaper, and are super easy!

dish gloves remove fur from clothes and furniture

REGULAR OLD DISH GLOVES

Get out some gloves just like the ones you may use for doing the dishes or other cleaning tasks.  Run a tiny bit of water over them, shake off the drops, and have at that furry sofa.  Just run your hands along the furniture, and voila!  This makes it really easy to get the lard parts, like furniture skirting and between cushions.

GROOMING GLOVE

Have you got a grooming glove for your animal?  If so, those gloves are great at removing the fur elsewhere too!  Just run your hand along the area, like with the dish gloves above, and you'll find that you pick up tons of fur.

rubber brooms remove fur from clothes and furniture
rubber whisk broom removes fur from clothes and furniture

RUBBER BROOM

If the dust bunnies at your house are more like tumbleweeds, and your regular broom just doesn't cut it, try on of these rubber bristled brooms.  They come in regular and whisk styles...and they are great for rugs.

lava or pumice removes fur from clothes and furnitures

LAVA OR PUMICE STONE

You can use a Fur-Zoff for canvas, most furniture, jeans, and other durable fabrics.  These things get that fur off very well, but if you have a smaller surface you can use any pumice stone for the same effect.

A BALLOON!

Especially when you are dealing with delicate fabrics, a balloon is a great lifehack for fur removal.  The static charge from the balloon attracts the fur and the fur sticks to the balloon instead of to your silk blouse!
