Before we start on our adventures, I’ve been asked to present 10 facts about myself (Gizmo) to you. I considered throwing a lie in there just to see if you believed me, but I decided to save my antics for later. You know, when we know each other better.

1 - I live in San Diego with my two favorite humans.
I’ve got a mama and a little mama. Mama sometimes bosses me and little mama around but she knows best. We love her a lot. We pretend like we’re annoyed when she tells us to clean up the hay we scattered around but really, we appreciate someone who cares.
Little Mama loves to organize my room. She really has an eye for detail. She has more time to spend with me than Big Mama and sometimes she just reads next to my room while I munch on hay. We play but we also take time to rest and recover!
2 - I once spent an entire hour searching my room for dried nettle.
Dried herbs can have very strong smells. Or at least, my nose is so good that I can smell them from a mile away. Except this one time. This one time, I was tricked! I could smell the nettle but I couldn’t see it. Turns out it was sitting in a pinecone! Yes, a pinecone! When I tell you little mama is good, she’s good!
3 - My favorite treat is Pea Flakes.
Now this one surprises some of my friends. Pea flakes are the perfect amount of sweetness. I don’t have a super sweet tooth. Sometimes when a treat is too sweet I can’t really investigate the flavor through the sweetness. Pea flakes taste like home, my comfort food!
4 - Fidget sticks are an adventurer’s walking stick.
All of my Gizmo adventures are made better with a Fidget Stick. If nothing else, you look cool with a fidget stick in your mouth. They come in multiple flavors if you get bored of one and it gives you something to snack on and carry around.
5 - I wear small bandanas and hope others adopt the adventurer’s uniform as well.
You’ll know when you see me because I’m the one wearing a cape. I mean, bandana. You don’t see a lot of guinea pigs wearing bandanas. We should change that!
6 - I really don’t mind photoshoots.
I mean, I am busy. However, I am a very handsome guy.
7 - It may seem like my hair is messy but it’s actually called rosettes.
I know I just said I have messy hair but it’s actually a fancy style. Rosettes change the way my hair grows!
8 - I “popcorn” every day.
What can I say I’m excited about the day. I love to see how high I can popcorn in the morning!
9 - When you line up four different types of hay, I can tell you exactly which is which.
I may not win a hay-eating contest, but I can definitely tell you what kind of hay we’re eating. Timothy hay is my favorite but I love to snack on Orchard hay as well. Alfalfa hay and Oat hay make a nice treat!
10 - I am a social butterfly who gets along with everyone.
That, my friends, is exactly why I have this job. I am the welcome committee for the guinea pigs of the Small Pet Select community. I also don’t mind when my cavy friends visit my room! The more the merrier. Just save some pea flakes for me.
