Hay friends!
It’s almost Easter and I have some super egg-citing news to share. I am hosting an Easter treasure hunt!
Well actually, Big Momma is doing all the setup, but I'm in charge of supervising and treasure inspection. Those are very important roles.
Now don’t worry. Big Momma knows we guinea pigs can’t eat chocolate or candy. Our Easter treasures are much healthier…and yummier! (At least for piggies like me). Our Easter treasures include hay, healthy treats, and lots of egg-sploring.
Big Momma is planning to hide tiny treat surprises under hay piles, inside tunnels, and near my favorite hidey spots, then my piggy friends and I get to sniff, search, and explore to find them. I just love it when snack time turns into enrichment time!
For the Easter treasure hunt, Big Momma said she’s using soft 2nd Cutting Timothy hay as the main hiding place for the treats. It’s leafy, green, and basically perfect for digging, burrowing, and searching for hidden surprises. (Plus it has those nummy flower heads I love!)
When treats are hidden in hay, I have to forage and work for them, just like I would in nature, and that makes snack time last much longer and much more fun.
For the treasure hunt treats, we are using Apple Pea Flake Healthy Snackers, broken into very small pieces and hidden all over so there are more treats to hunt, and plenty to share. Big Momma calls that “portion control.” I call extra fun!
Apples and peas? Yes please!
So, that’s my Easter plan. A treasure hunt, lots of hay, a few tiny treats, and time spent with friends and loved ones. I think it’s going to be a very good day.
