Hello. It's Belinda.
If you need hay you’re in luck. Because it's still going on.
I’m talking about the harvest sale. Great time to stock up on your favorites or to try something new.
And that’s not the only thing that’s “still going on.”
I'm still dealing with click click click at home. My roommate trying to clicker train my boyfriend’s companion.
During my work hours by the way.
If you want to learn more, read my blog from last week. It gives all the details.
But if that’s “TLDR” the deal is my roommate uses a ballpoint pen to make a click noise. Then she gives Little Fang a treat. Does this five or ten times for each “training session.”
She doesn’t wait to see Little Fang perform a flip or run up a ramp. She just hands out treats like a gumball machine.
I can’t handle it. I keep “excusing myself” to watch television upstairs.
Well have you ever tried to do hay reports in front of the TV? Rabbits are not good at “multitasking.” That goes double for spokesrabbits.
I started to wonder if Little Fang will ever “get with the program.” She might not be the type for training. You can lead a horse to water but you can’t make him snort. It’s the same idea.
Little Fang doesn’t need any more treats in my opinion. What she needs is an IQ test. It might show she has zero “aptitude” for clicker training.
If the test results are bad enough my roommate might just “hang up the clicker" once and for all. Time to find a new hobby.
Well I ran into two problems.
The first problem is I looked online but I can’t find any IQ tests for rabbits. I might need to special order one.
The second problem is I think Little Fang might be the one with all the smarts here. Think about it.
She just stands in one place and gets treats. Sometimes six or seven in a row. They're actually one loop broken into smaller pieces but that's not the point.
This entire situation is making my head hurt.
Anyway if you know where I can find an IQ test for rabbits, please leave a comment on Facebook. Or email me at Belinda@smallpetselect.com.
If you’ve read this far thank you. I’m sorry to put all this personal drama in my blog. But I can't work with all these distractions.
Sincerely,
Belinda
