Chapter 138 - OUR Home
Merlot sat next to Dino under the bed in the guest room. It had been awhile since Dino became a permanent resident of the House of Buns. She liked being near him. But she wondered why he spent so much time in the guest room. She asked, “Dino, how come you always stay here in the guest room?”
Dino replied, “Dis where I stayed when I came here. I thought dis my room.” Merlot explained, “You, know, you don’t have to stay in here. This is the guest room. You’re not a guest anymore.”
Dino asked, “Where did you stay?” Merlot said, “I usually stay out in the living room. I like to be near Dad, where the action is.” Dino wondered, “Is dat your room?”
Merlot explained, “No, you’re part of the family now. It’s OUR room. This is OUR home.” Dino replied, “Really? OK. Let’s go der!”
The two bunnies ran out to the living room. Merlot gave Dino the tour. She headed behind the gray couch. “This is my night spot. I sleep here because it’s more hidden, but I can still keep an eye on things.” Then she went behind the purple couch. “This is my afternoon nap spot. I like it because I can look out the window and see the yard as I doze off to sleep.” Then she went over to the tall windows. “This is my evening spot. I like it because I can see Dad, but it’s still out of the way so I don’t have to move every time he gets up.”
After that, the two bunnies spent all their time in the living room. Dino never went back to the guest room to sleep. As Merlot said, it was THEIR home!
Merlot gets Dino to move to the living room.
