If you’re reading this on Sunday I’m on vacation. “Out of office.”
Not that I have an office. Which is the main reason I need to get away, if you want to know the truth.
I can't get anything done lately.
Hay reviews, yes. Toy testing, yes. Facebook comments, "no problem."
None of those even feel like work.
But when it comes to writing hay ads I might as well be digging a ditch.
Actually that wouldn't be so bad. Think about it.
Then there's the "desk mystery" at work. And my roommate whispering behind my back.
I'm trying to ignore all of it. No time for nonsense.
Anyway, when I got the assignment to come up with the "creative" for my 2nd Cut Timothy & Alfalfa Hay Combo Box, I thought it would be easy.
Just show a nice photo of the combo box. Add a headline. "Bingo."
The combo box would "fly off the shelves."
Well it's not easy. And enough is enough in my opinion. I’ve been working nonstop on this.
No matter how many different ways I say "buy this hay," the team sends my ads back.
"Needs a little more tweaking, Belinda."
"We like what you did with the hay font. Could you show it in 20 point?"
"Nice work, Belinda. Please make it mobile-friendly."
I don't know what they're talking about. The only "friendly mobile" I can think of is my Belindamobile.
Which is a big part of my vacation plans, by the way.
My roommate says this is “not the right time to go anywhere.” Says we need to stay close to home.
Fine with me. I don’t need anything fancy.
A “loop” around the block in my Belindamobile would be a big thrill. As long as the weather is cool and we put the top up.
So that's my plan. A loop every morning and a few nights watching my favorite show, "Vega$" with detective Dan Tanna.
Plus hitting my stash. I am going to eat whatever I want. Including lots of timothy and alfalfa hay from my combo box.
I might not know how to write a good hay ad. But I know good hay.
