Helloooo Christmas. I can hear the jingle bells already! December is here and we can now deck the halls together. And today, I mean that literally! Little Mama is working on a Christmas maze (lots of halls) and she is decorating them with a winter wonderland theme. Little Mama loves making winter wonderland crafts because that’s what we lack here in San Diego.
This maze is the first step on our countdown to Christmas. We have fun planned for the entire month to help us countdown to the big day. I rushed to the computer once I realized I hadn’t pumped up my guinea pig gang to do the same yet.

Christmas Maze
A few more notes on the Christmas maze before we move on, you may think that stringing Christmas lights through the maze is a good idea, but a lot of Christmas light strings are green to blend in with trees. This means a curious cavy may get confused and take a bite out of electricity. Is that what it’s called? Little Mama always says, don’t bite the electricity.
If you’re feeling extra festive then put a prize at the end! Some Pea Flakes should do the trick or for an extra special surprise, you could put an Oat and Maize Wreath. When Big Mama hung her wreath on the front door, I was so surprised to see her hand me one too.
When I saw this wreath I was truly impressed. These guys think of everything.
Hay Christmas Tree
If you haven't made a hay Christmas tree yet then you’re missing out! I know how much hay you have in your house and now is the time to get crafty with it. You can wrap the hay and tie the hay with more hay! It’s a fun Sunday afternoon activity.
But if you think I sound crazy or you don’t have anyone like Little Mama at your house then don’t worry, the toy guys have done it again and you can get a Tree Mobile.
Hang Your Stockings
I hope everyone in my guinea pig gang gets a stocking this year. Hanging your stocking is a part of decorating but filling it is a part of celebrating! If your humans need some ideas send them in the direction of this Candy Cane.
Whew, I didn’t mean for this post to become a shopping guide but then again, tis the season for shopping so I guess that is a topic of conversation for me.
I have some new ideas this year. I just need to find a guinea pig-sized sled and then I can lead a parade around the house. Christmas is the time of year when you can be a little extra happy, a little extra crazy, and you get a little extra treats.
