Chapter 24 - The Lazy Grazer
Hobo sat in the litter box staring at the hay manger. Dad had placed it beside the litter box so the rabbits could have a chew while they did their business. Truthfully, Dad was trying to encourage them to use the litter box more.
Hobo was not the svelte young rabbit he once was. Sitting up and eating seemed like too much work. To paraphrase, it’s been said, “Give the laziest bun the hardest job and he’ll find the easiest way to do it.” Hobo studied the hay manger and came up with an idea. He climbed up the side of the litter box and laid down in the hay manger.
“This is better,” he thought, as he lay in the manger grazing on hay. Dad came into the Starship Bunnyprise just then to discover Hobo half in the manger, half hanging out of it. Dad just laughed and said, “Really Hobo? You can’t even stand up to eat hay?”
Hobo just looked at Dad and thought, “This is much more relaxing!”
