Hello. It's Belinda.
This is a big week for Abigail. She's now a published author.
You might have read about it in her blog a few days ago.
Here she is posing with her book.
She looks so happy. I'm super proud of her to tell you the truth.
You might be wondering how this came about.
It all started four years ago.
At the time, I was about seven months into my spokesrabbit job. Everything was going fine, or so I thought.
Then suddenly it seemed I was going to "get the ax."
That's because everyone was acting funny around me. Strange pauses on the team calls. Which I noticed.
My roommate was in on it too. Whispering on the phone. Jumping when I walked into the room.
After a few days of that I panicked. For one thing, I was having the time of my life learning how to be a spokesrabbit. I didn't want to lose my job.
More than that, I didn't want rabbits to "lose their voice" at the company. Not that I'm the be-all end-all. But if I were out the door, who would write from the rabbit point of view?
The more I fretted over it the jumpier I got. I had to do something fast. But what?
The next thing you know I pulled a fast one and hired Abigail behind everyone's back.
Was I authorized to hire another writer? No.
It gets worse. Turned out I was wrong about being fired. The team was actually planning a surprise birthday party for me.
Well the surprise was on them because the next day Abigail submitted the first chapter of her novel. It was titled "Wish With All Your Heart."
Since she was an official employee they had to publish her chapter. Now it's four years later and Abigail's novel gets better every week.
Her published book features 25 chapters with photos. It's a great gift for anyone who wants to live "in harmony" with rabbits. I wish someone I know would order a copy. If you know what I mean.
