Belinda Says Hay: “Thundersnow”

Belinda Says Hay spokesrabbit blog, Dec 8, 2024. "Thundersnow"

Hello. It's Belinda.

Are you in the holiday spirit yet?

I am. Mostly because I've been writing about all our Countdown to Christmas deals. It's fun to look at all the toys.

There's lots of A+ gift ideas for the "naughty and nice" rabbits on your list,

The honeysuckle and hay candy cane for example. Or the oat and maize wreath.

Not to mention gourmet hay and pea flakes. And the hideout castle.

If I had money I'd buy two of everything. "One for me, one for Little Fang."

See all the deals here.

The other reason I'm in the holiday spirit is the snow.

That's right. We had some snow this week.

Not everyone is a fan of Pittsburgh weather, especially in the winter. But I like having four seasons.

But here's the thing.

The seasons are supposed to happen "one at a time."

I added this photo because I have a story. And it starts with me "dozing" on the bottom level.

I nodded off after dinner yesterday.

Next thing I know it's the middle of the night. I'm dreaming about oat wreaths when suddenly I hear a loud BOOM!

I open my eyes.

A bright light flashes outside the window over the dryer.

My heart jumps and so do I.

"Fireworks!" says Little Fang.

I can't see her but I can tell she's afraid.

"Tell them to knock it off."

It's not fireworks, I tell her. It can't be.

Suddenly I hear my roommate walking across the floor above us. Then on the steps, running down to us.

"Bunnies!"

She was out of breath.

"Did you hear the thunder? It's snowing. But with thunder and lightning!"

Then she said it.

"It's thundersnow bunnies. Isn't that exciting?"

Come on.

Thunderstorms are for the Fourth of July. Not Christmas.

This time of year is supposed to be quiet. So you can think about toys and treats and gifts.

And I'm sorry if this sounds "nutty" but this is what happens when you mess with the clocks. Even the weather gets confused.

Next thing you'll know we'll have daffodils and tulips popping out of the ground. December is for poinsettias.

Anyway I wanted to tell you about the thundersnow. Never heard of such a thing.

I hope you have time to check out the Countdown to Christmas.

Be sure to order gifts early. You never know when there will be delays caused by "odd weather."

Sincerely,

Belinda
