Belinda Says Hay: “FAQs About My BFF”

Hello. It's Belinda.

Did you see the “Weekly Cuties” yesterday?  It celebrated National Best Friends Day. Which takes place on Monday, June 8.

I thought it was a good time to do something special for my boyfriend’s companion. Also known as “Little Fang.” Because she’s my BFF. Best friend forever.

In case you missed it, here’s a portrait I drew of her for our holiday card:

Today I am dedicating my blog to her. I hope you don’t mind.

It’s not really “hay business” which was on my list for today.

But some of you send questions to me about her. So I thought I would answer a few here.

Who is the boyfriend?

My boyfriend was a "rare gem" if you know what I mean. Always in a good mood.

He lived on the bottom floor with me and Little Fang. They stayed in a big pen because they were both messy. "To put it mildly."

But he got out every night to run laps with me. It was fun.

But then he got a lump and it kept coming back. We miss him so much.

Are you and Little Fang a "bonded pair?"

I don't know.

If she comes out of the pen I chase her. It's not my fault.

Other than that little "quirk" we have a lot in common. We both like healthy snackers and alfalfa hay, for example. And watching our shows.

And when we were stuck at my agent’s house last summer, Little Fang pulled a fast one to get us kicked out. Because I wanted to come home.

That’s a good friend in my opinion.

What is her real name?

If we could stop with all the "nicknames" in this house I could give you a straight answer. My roommate calls her everything from "Bluebird" and "Little Fang" to "Little Bat."

My boyfriend's companion is not a bat.

Do you ever get into spats?

Sometimes she talks at 2 a.m. Even though she knows I have to get up for work. I admit I thump now and then.

If I'm "hangry" and she has extra food I can forget my manners. That's why it's so important to have "all-you-can-eat" hay stations in the house. One per floor.

On the plus side, I get more treats than she does. Which is only fair because I’m taller.

Now I'm thinking about food. Which means it's time for a hay break.

I hope you get to see your "BFF" soon. And share  some snacks.

As for me, I am giving Little Fang an entire box of Meadow Loops from my stash.  To say "Happy Best Friends Day."

I know she will like this blog but come on.

Sincerely,

Belinda
