Belinda Says Hay: “Update on Little Fang”

I want to thank everyone for the nice feedback on my love languages blog.

How was your Valentine’s Day? I hope you helped yourself to a few treats.

My day was even better than expected.

I thought I might get a box full of special holiday goodies. Josh from the warehouse always remembers.

But get this. He sent two gifts.

One for me and one for Little Fang.

My roommate opened the box for us. Here's what was inside:

The premium ultra soft timothy hay is for me. 

The paper pellet bedding is for Little Fang. For her litterbox.

Josh is always generous, but sending a Valentine's gift for my best friend is going the extra mile. He knows Little Fang is "single as a Pringle."

And I guess he found out that she has a big goal for 2022. I mean about her bathroom habits. 

Little Fang's resolution is to keep her pen tidy. Ever since her bladder went she has to live with pee pads all over the floor. At least seven or eight.

But now she just pushes the pee pads into her sleeping box throughout the day. 

Here's the catch. My roommate comes downstairs every morning and, after she gives us breakfast, goes straight to the storage closet. Which used to be my office until she filled it with pee pads.

You probably know where I’m going with this. When you have 20 packages of pee pads stacked in a storage closet, you want to use them.

So it’s been a little “battle of wills“ here on the bottom level. 

While Little Fang and I eat, my roommate spreads pee pads all over the floor of the pen. She also freshens up the two litter boxes in there.  

When she comes down hours later, some of the pee pads have been “squirreled away“ into the sleeping box.

My roommate is patient about the whole thing. She pretends she doesn't notice what's going on. 

I don’t know where she learned “rabbit psychology“ but it is not working in my opinion.

Anyway, it was super kind of Josh to send the paper pellet bedding. It says on the box that it's "made with love for small pets and our planet."

Sounds like we have a new item for the love languages list.
