Hello busy friends. It’s that time of year where everyone is in full swing. Big mama is trying to get ahead with her work so she can take time off for Thanksgiving. This means me and little mama have had extra time for shenanigans.
Instead of jumping in leaf piles, I’ve been jumping in hay piles. Let me tell you, my room is looking wild. Little Mama gave me extra hay so there was enough for playing. Big Mama has her nose in her work so she didn’t notice the usual hay manger has expanded to a hay swimming pool.
As much as I love hay, I am grateful to know Big Mama will be cleaning up the mess soon.
This brings me to what I really wanted to talk about today, gratitude. This is what Little Mama has been going on about. She’s been making a list of things she is grateful for and I thought that was a great idea for the blog!
My Castle
When I woke up this morning (from nap #1), my first thought was how I love waking up in my cozy hideaway. Even an adventurer like myself can appreciate the consistency that comes with a cozy hidden bed.
My Kingdom
I am grateful for the kingdom Big Mama set up for me. It feels like a space set up entirely for me. Little Mama even calls me King Gizmo sometimes.
I have the best hay, fresh water, toys, and fidget sticks. Everyday I am grateful to have a space with everything I need in it.
My People
It wouldn't matter where I lived or how many fidget sticks I had to my name if I didn’t have friends and family to share it with. Not literally, please don’t take my fidget stick, but you know what I mean. Jumping in a hay pile is more fun when you have someone there to help put it back into a pile and laugh about it.
I think that's what us cavies want most. We love treats but getting out and crawling around with our humans sure hits different. I try to keep a grateful attitude to keep me feeling content on the slow days. Every day may not feel like an exciting party but every day can feel comfortable and full of love. It’s a great feeling to wake up to, fall asleep to, and chew hay to. Gratitude is the attitude! Have a great wheek friends.
Signing off,
Gizmo
