I hope you are having a good weekend so far. Staying warm.
I mentioned in last week's blog that I'm not supposed to watch the news. My roommate won't let me.
She knows how I worry if I see bad storms or other scary events on TV.
Well now I know why.
The other day she dozed off on the couch while watching a show. A little while later I walked into the living room and I looked at the TV. They were talking about the weather and showing maps.
I saw what's going on in California. There are fires in Los Angeles.
Abigail's "dad" and the House of Buns are in California. My roommate says they are about five hours north of Los Angeles so they are safe.
But a lot of other rabbits in and around Los Angeles need help. Especially the ones in rescues and shelters. They are being moved around to foster homes and wherever they can find a safe place to stay.
You might be wondering how you can help the rescues. One good way is to donate on their "apps" so they can buy whatever they need most.
I did some research and I found a few rescues for you to check out. Three are rabbit rescues and one is for our guinea pig friends.

Are you a rescue (not just in California) who needs help?
Rescue is a lot of hard work. Everybody needs a little extra help sometimes. Maybe you need some hay or pellets. Or litter or other supplies.
I hope you will take a look at the rescue donation request form on the Small Pet Select website.
Here's what it says on the website:
"We love supporting shelters and rescues, and will do all we can to help out with your events or emergencies. Just fill out the form below and let's see what we can do together!
We have just a few rules: we accept requests from January 1 through October 31 each year (but not in November or December), we will only give one donation per year to an organization, except in cases of emergencies (natural disasters, etc), and all donations go to registered 501(c)3 non-profits.
We do have one super important big favor: please, please do send us pictures and stories and video. We want to spread great stories, and let everyone see all the beautiful work we can do when we all pull together.
We've got other programs to help rescues as well...get info about our Ambassador Program, for instance!"
If you don't need help now, be sure to tuck this away for future reference. Tell other rescues you know.
