Hello. It's Belinda.
You might be wondering why this is called a "self-help" blog.
That's because I had to do it by myself. Without any help.
My roommate is off on some sort of "retreat." Told me she needs some time away to "reflect."
"It's just a little self-care weekend, Belinda."
She told me this as she was sitting on the couch, lacing up her hiking boots. Her suitcase was by the front door.
Then she told me to be good for the petsitter.
Next thing you know she's gone and I'm sitting by myself in the living room.
First of all, I'm glad that she's going away. She's been extra noisy lately.
Second, what about my job? I need help with typing my blog.
It took me hours just to type this "intro."
As I sat there worrying about my deadlines, I noticed something across the room. On the bookshelf.
My roommate has a lot of books. Some of them are "self-help" books. Full of advice on how to sit in the woods and "reflect."
Other books are about taking care of us. Little Fang and me, plus the English.
Well, one of the "rabbit care" books caught my eye. It's called "Why Does My Rabbit ... ?"
Have you read it? My roommate likes it a lot. Sometimes she stares at me with her mouth open, then she takes "Why Does My Rabbit...?" off the shelf and reads it.
Anyway, I don't mean any disrespect by this next part.
But it seemed odd to me. That they published the book without finishing the title. I guess it was just the mood I was in but suddenly I wanted to see what the book said about me.
I'm not supposed to go near my roommate's books but I didn't care.
So I walked to the bookcase and stood on my "tip toes." It took a lot of effort but I finally pulled "Why Does My Rabbit ...?" out.
I backed up as it fell to the floor.
I liked it a lot.
