Whew! Can you believe it's already mid July? I can't!
It seems like summer goes by fast, but summer days can get soooo long when you’re a curious piggy with a big imagination. But don’t worry — I’ve got some squeak-tastic boredom busters to keep your cavy’s whiskers wiggling all summer (and beyond!).
But first — a quick squeak of caution! Guinea pigs like me can overheat really fast, so it’s best for us to stay cool and comfy inside when the weather’s hot. And on those cooler summer days when I can go outside, shade and fans are my best friends — besides you and Big Momma, of course!
Now on to my favorite summertime activities!
- Chew, Chew, Hooray! Big Momma says my teeth never stop growing — so I need lots of safe stuff to gnaw on. But look! I got a pawsome new seagrass chain to chomp on -- and keep me busy!

2. Snacky Treasure Hunts: Sometimes Big Momma hides my treats. It’s like a veggie treasure hunt! I sniff, scoot, and rummage ‘til I find every tasty bite. You should try it too — it keeps my mind busy and my belly full.
3. Chill Hidey Spots: When the sun's out full blast, I love a good indoor summer snooze – don’t you? Cardboard boxes, tunnels, or my favorite hidey castle make the best nap zones – except for Big Momma’s lap, of course. (Sometimes she even hides my snacks in my hidey holes!)

4. Fresh, Room-Temperature Water — Always! Staying hydrated is super important for piggies like me, especially when it’s warm. I love having fresh, clean water that’s room temperature – but not ice cold! (We piggies are delicate.) Big Momma freshens my bottle every day to keep me squeaky-happy!
5. Playtime! My best boredom buster? Hanging out with my family! I love floor time, gentle lap cuddles, and exploring new (safe!) spots with supervision.
Plus I got a bunch of new summer toys to share with Big Momma! They’re fun to toss, roll, and chomp, plus they help keep my teeth healthy!

That’s my boredom buster list. Did I miss anything? I'd love to hear your ideas!
Until next time, stay cool, stay squeaky, and remember -- a busy piggy is a happy piggy!
Love,
