Chapter 285 – Summerall

Abigail at her typewriter

Chapter 285 - Summerall

Abigail stared out the floor length window, surveying her “territory.” Birds chirped, squirrels chased each other around the trees, and her wild cousins nibbled on greens and Small Pet Select alfalfa hay at Café Bunz. The sun was low in the sky, lighting up the colors of the trees as though Mother Nature was on High Definition Range color. It was so serene, like a storybook.

Abigail liked this time of year. It was early fall in California. The days were still hot like summer, but the evenings were cool like fall. She called it Summerall. It was also time to change into her winter coat. Tufts of fur stuck out all over her coat.

Dad breezed into the room and said, “Abigail, you’re looking a little scruffy, there. How about a brushing?”  Dad picked her up gently, took her outside on the deck, and set her in his lap on a towel. Abigail just relaxed and closed her eyes as he gently brushed her coat, first with a Fur Bliss, and then with a Small Pet Select HairBuster comb. As tempting as it was, Dad resisted tugging at the tufts and just let the brush do the work. He knew it annoyed Abigail when he pulled at them.

After several minutes of brushing, it looked like Abigail had split in two, like an amoeba. There was enough fur to make second rabbit. Dad said, “OK, Abigail. I think you’re done. For today, anyway.” He set her down on the floor. Abigail shook herself to fluff up her fur, and hopped back to the window to look outside.

Meanwhile, Dad went off to grab the lint roller to brush himself!

Fall has arrived, which means it's time for Abigail to change Fall has arrived which means it's time to change her coat.
