Little Abigail undergoes radiation treatment in the giant $4M Image Guided Radiation Therapy machine at UC Davis.
Some decisions are harder than others. When it comes to Abigail’s life… there is only one right answer.
Leaving a beloved pet in anyone else’s care is always stressful. But, when you find the best care available, you can rest assured that everything will be ok.
A spoonful of sugar won’t help the medicine go down when it comes to rabbits. Getting Abigail to take her medicine means a workout for Dad!
Pets leave pawprints on our hearts. Rest easy, Jack-in-the-bag. May you hop free in the warm sunshine and eat all the treats you want.
Hearing that your little pet is sick is always hard. Trying to find ways to pay for specialty vet care is even harder.
Going to the vet is never fun for pet or pet pawrent… but it’s necessary for good health and keeps emergencies at bay.
It is a well known fact that everybun at the House of Buns wants for nothing… I mean, they own the place, after all!
It’s almost Valentine’s Day, and Bentley wants to ask Dad something very important…”Will you be my Valentine?”
If there are treats to be given, Enzo is first in line. Everybun has their job… and Enzo does his very well!
Rabbits always seem to get sick at the most inconvenient times! Luckily, Dad is always prepared. Emergency Adverted.
This year is special for all rabbits because it’s the Year of the Rabbit according to the Chinese calendar. It only happens once every 12 years!
A house full of rabbits? Certainly, the crystal ball was broken. Who would have thought that so much could change in 7 years?

It’s Thanksgiving. A time to spend with your loved ones, family and friends. Dad and everybun else at the House of Buns have a lot to be thankful for!
It’s time for Dad to start creating the 2023 Rabbit Haven rescue calendar. Abigail ponders on who should be the cover bun… who has a great rescue story?
The “turtle” is back and Enzo just can’t help but investigate it a bit further. It doesn’t really smell like a turtle… maybe it’s a hoverboard?
There’s a weird new creature in town… it’s very slow, makes odd noises, and tends to bump into things. What in the world could it be? Enzo investigates!
When it comes to a specific task, sometimes it just takes a professional. When that task is begging for treats…well, Enzo is definitely the head honcho!
Trick or treat! It’s almost Halloween and the bunnies take this holiday seriously. Hobo takes it a *little* TOO seriously…
There is a briskness in the air and the days are getting shorter; this can only mean one thing… it’s shedding season! I mean… it’s autumn!
It’s down to the wire…. will Jack-in-the-Bag win the coveted cover photo of the special needs animal calendar?
Ugh, junk mail. Everyone gets it, and everyone hates it. Or… do they? The rabbits don’t seem to mind it; in fact, they love it!
Jack-in-the-bag is in the running to be the cover for a special needs animal calendar. Abigail has some ideas to help ensure he gets the coveted spot!
There’s a special needs animal calendar looking for one extra awesome pet to be the cover. If there is a bun deserving of this title, it’s Jack-in-the-bag!
Once that treat bag comes out, ALL the bunnies come running! When it comes to treats… Abigail gets hers first. Not that Dad has favorites (right?).
Bunnies love to run! But, they also like to nap. There’s a time and place for both… and, for Turbo, it’s time to play when Abigail and Enzo want to sleep.
Dad likes things neat and tidy… but the bunnies have other ideas on how things should look. Dad lets them do their thing; it’s their space after all!
It can take quite a while for rabbits to bond. Enzo and Abigail have shared a living space for many months… but were never buddies. Till now.
Dad gives his “Rabbits 101” presentation to some children at their summer camp. He and Abigail are teaching the next generation of rabbit lovers.
Dad is giving a bunny presentation to kids for their summer camp and Abigail has some ideas on what he should talk about. Namely, that cages are no fun.
Abigail and Enzo have been sharing a living space for some time now. But, Abigail (always the shy one) never allowed Enzo to get too close. Until now…
Sharing is caring….sorta. Bunnies like to forage for their treats, individual servings don’t really work for them. Thus, Abigail learns how to share.
Enzo loves people! He is always happy to hop up to guests and ask for head rubs. Abigail, on the other hand, is a tad shy. Maybe Enzo can help her be brave.
Bentley gets to do some product testing! He put Small Pet Select’s Medium Castle to the test and it passed with flying colors. Bunny tested and approved.
When the sun sets, the bunnies come out to play! Once Dad says goodnight to everybun and turns out the lights… the living room turns into a circus!
Abigail likes to kick up her heels a bit every morning! The world is her stage. Well, maybe not the world… but definitely the living room.
Bunnies eat their greens on their own time… which means they may not eat them before they wilt. How can Dad save these greens so they don’t go to waste?
Nibble, munch, cronch… Enzo likes to chew. It’s good for his teeth and it’s just fun! However, Dad’s windowsills tend to bear the brunt of this habit.
Bentley loves his nightly pets… but not at the expense of his lovely, clean coat! Dad must follow protocol and wash his hands before petting is allowed.
Remember your college days? Multiple those party times by 100 and you get a typical, nightly rabbit rave. Party on, bunny people!
Dad and Abigail take portraits of rescue rabbits to help them find their forever home. This last session was extra special…
It’s Abigail’s 4th anniversary with Small Pet Select and she wants to do something extra special. Can you guess what it is?
Abigail and Enzo may not be “bondmates”, but they get along well enough that Enzo was granted 24/7 free roam! Now he can hang with Abigail all day and night
Enzo has been feeling a little down. An afternoon on the porch, just him and Dad, is the pick-me-up he needed! Sometimes, all you need is some quality time.
It’s always the little things that you look back on in life and think “hmm, that wasn’t such a little thing after all…”. Treasure these moments.
Nighttime. A time of peaceful rest and calm… unless you are a resident at the House of Buns. Night time means zoomies and binkies!
It’s spa day for the bunnies! But not everyone appreciates it. First up is Abigail, then… wait, where are the other buns?
Happy Birthday, Abigail! Dad creates a special “cake” for her out of her favorite treats, including willow leaves!
Bunnies love to chew and dig on carpet… which doesn’t bode well for the flooring! Instead of removing this source of entertainment, Dad gets creative.
Dad takes pictures of bunnies at shelters to help them get home and gets even the timid bunny to open up for him! Bunnies are great judges of character.
Dad always takes care of all the bunnies in the House of Buns. Abigail thinks it’s about time she takes care of him and makes sure he gets a special treat!
A house with buns is always perfect… at least in Dad’s book! His once pristine house has been taken over by bunnies. And he’s just fine with that.
What’s in a name? Cutie Pie, Floofers, Hobes… the occupants of the House of Buns go by many names! All of them endearing and adorable.
It’s not quite bunny love, but Enzo and Abigail are starting to warm up to each other. Abigail even lets Enzo share her area… that’s a big step!
Is love in the air? Enzo and Abigail have been meeting through the fence at the cafe… but maybe it is time to meet face-to-face.
Dad is trying to bond Abigail with the handsome Enzo, is it working? So, he sets up some dates at the local “Starbuns”, will his efforts pay off?
Enzo found a way to get more than one treat…simply steal the treat bag! Unfortunately (for Enzo), Dad says only one treat per bunny. Sorry, Enzo!
Sometimes bunnies are too smart for their own good! Dad entices Hobo to take his medicine with treats, but Mocha has others ideas…
Mocha and Hobo are inseparable; they eat together, sleep together, play together… they are each other support team! Bonded bunnies are truly remarkable.
Time to deliver goodies to the shelters! Abigail loves to get gifts…but she loves giving them even more. Especially if it’s gifts for bunnies in need.
Abigail gets a Christmas gift from her “boss”, Belinda. What could it be? Whatever it is, Abigail knows it’s something really special…
What did Santabun bring the bunnies at the House of Buns? New treats? New toys? Sometimes the best gift is family…
Must be shedding season…again! No matter how many times Hobo gets brushed, he keeps leaving dust bunnies lying around.
Enzo started out as a foster bunny when Dad brought him in to care for his injuries. Now, Dad has a special surprise for this snuggly, cuddly little bun!
Time to pull out those lights, the tree, the stockings and get the house looking festive! For some, simply having a home is holly jolly enough.
Hmm, where’s Enzo? He’s not in his usual resting spots; did he take a page out of Abigail’s trick book and learn to play hide and seek? But where?
Bentley is ready to start the day; but, his “treatmobile” is empty! Even worse, Dad is still asleep! What’s a bunny to do except wake Dad up?
Enzo shows Dad how he works the camera during a holiday photoshoot. It’s easy to look like a professional when you’re so naturally adorable.
Dad casually mentions to Bentley how cuddly Enzo, the new bun, is. This gets Bentley thinking “Hmm, I could be a snuggly bun, too!”
Just when everything seems to be getting back to normal… Abigail develops a worrisome symptom. Could she be getting sick again?? Back to the vet they go.
Vets are superheroes. Abigail had a rough few days…luckily, she has an exceptional vet that went above and beyond to help her out!
Dad and Abigail had a very big scare. Abigail got very sick and had to be rushed to the emergency room… little pets are very good at hiding illness.
Dad is fostering Enzo until his leg heals… or is he? How to be a foster fail: be a cuddle bug or make friends with Abigail. Can Enzo do it?
A spoonful of sugar makes the medicine go down… or a spoonful of mashed bananas and grapes. Dad finds the magic recipe to hide the taste of medicine.
There’s a new bun in town! A stray whom Dad named Enzo is getting all the TLC he could ask for at the House of Buns while his injured foot heals.
Dad notices a bunny in the shelter s favoring a hind foot… so he hops in immediately to help! A bunny in need needs Dad indeed.
Abigail isn’t sure how to react when she sees that Dad talks about her… bathroom habits… with other bun pawrents. Hoomans are so weird!
Bunnies don’t like to be caged up and will certainly let you know! Dad understands cage aggression is a serious problem and advocates for the bunnies.
We’ve said it before… bunnies like their routines. When Bentley doesn’t get his nightly treat, he lets Dad know just how he feels about it!
Hungry Bentley + treat container = naughty bunny! Bentley decides to try and help himself to the treats instead of bugging Dad.
A bunny never forgets! That’s how that saying goes, right? Well, maybe not quite… but bunnies certainly remember happy times with friendly people.
How do bunnies keep themselves entertained? With hobbies, of course! The House of Buns has some very fun hobbies that keep them all healthy and happy.
Even bunnies get jealous. When Dad comes home from helping other bunnies at the shelter, Bentley lets Dad know exactly how he feels!
Nobunny likes to be locked up all the time; that would make anyone grouchy. Space to binky, run and stretch can change a bunny’s attitude in no time.
Abigail loves starting each day by having breakfast with Dad. Today, however, he has work to do and is late… no worries, Dad is worth the wait.
Bunnies are actually pretty chatty, though they “talk” through body language. Understanding them takes practice… and some bunny-to-hooman training.
It’s the 4th of July! This means BBQ, fireworks and celebrating our independence. Abigail thinks all free roam bunnies should rename it Bundependence Day.
Friends are important. And Abigail has a friend who sends her the best treats all the way from the other side of the country!
It’s almost Bun Dad Day (aka, Father’s Day), and Bentley has the perfect gift in mind for Dad! If only he can get it ready in time…
Abigail wants to give all the bunnies who live in shelters a special day just for them. And what better party to have for bunnies than a garden party!
Animals are so resilient. Even those with disabilities have adapted to their lives with ease… thanks to their loving humans!
Abigail loves helping bunnies in need; so when a bunny rescue is in dire need of food, she and Dad jump right in to help!
Where’s Abigail? She’s not in her usual hiding spots and she’s not running to greet Dad when he comes in with her breakfast. Where could she be hiding?
As you know, bunnies love their routines. If life gets in the way and their nightly treat schedule gets disrupted, they simply take it into their own paws.
Life as a single bunny… you don’t have to share treats, you can decorate your burrow anyway you like. Life as a bachelorette suits Abigail just fine.
Treat tunnel? Maybe. Picnic table? Hmm, not right now. Buffet? Yum! So many choices and I’m free to choose any I want. If only all bunnies had such freedom.
Sometimes a bunny just has to be a bunny. And that means chewing up bedsheets to make a burrow! But, that’s what having a bunny roommate is all about.
When the power goes out and there is no light, no music, no computer and no TV… there’s not much more to do than pet the bunnies!
Who’s the special birthday girl? It’s Abigail! Dad’s little girl is 6 years old, and Dad makes her a very special birthday treat.
Sometimes it’s the little things that remind us of how quickly time passes. Enjoy each and every moment, and they remain in your heart forever.
It’s Christmas in…. March? Remember Hopscotch, the bunny with the “tusk”? Abigail learns that miracles can happen any time of the year.
Can’t catch me! Everyone loves to play games, and one of Abigail’s favorites is “Tag”. So, she teaches Dad the proper way to play tag… bunny-style!
Dad’s adoration for rabbits started with a book his mother used to read to him as a young boy. It was about protecting a little white rabbit…
Every night, Dad plays Abigail ‘their song’. She knows how lucky she is to have Dad and wishes every bun could share a ritual like this with their pawrent.
“Knock Knock, housekeeping!” Dad provides the bunnies with cleaning, meals, a pat on the head and a friendly smile. This type of service deserves 5 stars.
Lights, camera, Hobo! Dad’s friend asked for a ‘dance partner’ to help her with a promo video… and Hobo was more than happy to volunteer.
Happy Valentine’s Day to all the bunny pawrents! Dad tells Abigail “I love you” many, many times a day… but she doesn’t mind one bit.
Dad likes to check up on his buns, but Bentley likes to hide while he naps. So Dad gets creative to check on Bentley without disturbing him.
Dad doesn’t just take care of his house buns… he takes care of the whole neighborhood. Rocky, the local squirrel, knows just where to go to get breakfast.
Not to get too personal… but how is a bunny to stay entertained while going to the loo? Magazine? Candy Crush? Nah. Well, like always, Dad has the answer.
Everyone sneaks down for midnight snacks… luckily, Abigail doesn’t need to sneak; Dad keeps them right on the table for Abigail to pick out her favorites.
This is the story of a bunny angel who earned his bunny angel wings by saving the lives of 2 abandoned lops.
Abigail learns of a fellow bunny in need of vet care and hops right in to help. As she listens to the other bun’s story, she realizes how lucky she is.
It’s almost time for SantaBun to arrive! And Dad makes sure everything is festive for the bunnies… including their own tree and stockings by a fireplace.
Abigail is sad that Dad can’t deliver gift bags to shelters this year… so she comes up with a perfect idea to help foster buns find their forever home.
Dad has to work late to meet a deadline… which means he will be late for his nightly routine with Bentley. Dad has a feeling he will get the “bunny butt”.
It’s that time of year again… time for Dad to line up the bunny models and take adorable photos for the Rabbit Haven rescue. And Abigail is top model!
It’s after midnight and Dad is still hard at work. All work and no play is no good! Abigail thinks Dad needs a break… but how can she get his attention?
Get your ‘Bunny Bling T-Shirts’ and help bunnies in need.
Abigail LOVES to help rabbits in need. But how? Then, she remembers the bling shirts she and Dad made for the car club… could she make something similar to help her fellow bunnies?
Bentley made his “burrow” under Dad’s bed. So the last thing Dad sees before bed and the first thing he sees in the morning is Bentley! He is his Bunshine!
As prey animals, bunnies are pretty skittish… especially teeny buns like Abigail. With lots of patience and love, she has learned to overcome her fears.
Hobo and Mocha are bonded and share everything, even food. Dad tries to make sure they each get their fair share, but nothing can break a bunny bond.
Fall in California, where Dad and Abigail live, is still balmy. Warm nights mean more time to snuggle by the window and treasure these special moments.
GI stasis is a very serious condition that every bun parent needs to be aware of. Knowledge, a bit of quick action and a proper vet on speed dial can prevent a disaster.
No matter how big, little, old or young… our fur babies will always be babies! Especially when it comes to Dad and his sweet little girl, Abigail.
Bunnies are quite the chatterboxes…if you know how to communicate with them. Luckily, Dad knows just what his fluffy friends are talking about!
Abigail loves helping bunnies in need… even if it means selling the shirt off of dad’s back. Well, not exactly. Dad and Abigail have a new plan for fundraising.
Bunnies can certainly be potty-trained; but, sometimes, they may need a gentle reminder. Dad has plenty of tricks up his sleeve to “re-train” if necessary.
“Love you to the moon and back”… humans have so many funny sayings. But that’s just fine for Abigail; she loves Dad to the moon and back too!
Abigail woke up extra hoppy one morning. Then she remembered why… it was her Gotcha Day! The day she first left her “cage life” forever.
*THUMP!* Abigail senses something and it has her on high alert. Smoke from wildfires burning many, many miles away have drifted in on the wind.
Abigail doesn’t seem to want her nightly pets. Dad respects her wishes and lets her do her own thing… sometimes, even bunnies get “in a mood”.
What’s that sound?! Duh-dum-duh-dum…whirrrrr! It’s the “Shark”! Abigail works hard to mark her territory, but the Shark works harder to clean it up.
Abigail has so many fans it took 2 blogs for her to answer all your questions! Dad helped her type up all the answers . So, here you go.
You asked, and Abigail happily answered! The rabbit novelist loved reading all the questions submitted by her fans…
No one told “Jack in the bag” that he couldn’t run as fast as any other rabbit. Even though his back legs are paralyzed, Jack can keep up with the best.
Bentley is giving Dad the “bunny butt”. Bunnies do this when they are displeased about something… but what on earth did Dad do?
Like Abigail says, “An apple a days keeps the vet away.” Sweet, crunchy apples are her favorite treat, Dad makes sure she has a small slice of the best one.
Everyone has their ‘nightly routine’ to settle down and relax into a peaceful slumber. Dad and Abigail are no exception – they even have a special playlist.
It’s almost Father’s Day – or, “Bundad Day” for bunny pawrents. Bentley wants to get Dad something really special… he just has to find it first.
It’s been a work in progress, that’s for sure. But Mocha and Hobo’s new “bunstruction” is finally complete. Welcome to the Starship Bunnyprise.
