Christmas was coming soon. Dad needed to find a present for his beloved rabbit, Abigail. But what to get the bunny who has everything? She already had a hay tunnel with three types of hay, every rabbit treat imaginable, fresh willow leaves every week, her own digging spot, and all the space she could want to run in.
He decided to ask her, “Abigail, what would you like Santa Bun to bring you?” Abigail thought about it for a second, and then she remembered the confetti ball that Santa Bun had brought her last year. It was so much fun!
Last year, the confetti ball was Abigail's favorite.
The confetti ball was made up of layers of various kinds of tasty and wonderful smelling dried plants and herbs. Abigail had the best time peeling away the layers and tossing the ball around. It was like foraging through a field, but all wrapped up into a single ball. She played with the ball for a month before it was completely unraveled. Unfortunately, the ball was only available in limited quantities during Christmas, so he couldn’t get more.
“Oh, do you think Santa Bun could bring another one of those confetti balls?” she wondered. “Well, I think so!” said Dad, “You’ve been a very good little girl this year!” As soon as the ball was available at Small Pet Select, he ordered them for Abigail. He did not want to miss them!
On Christmas morning, Dad sat on the floor with Abigail, opening presents. “Abigail, look what Santa Bun brought you! Abigail hopped over. It was a confetti ball! She was so excited, she binkied. She sniffed it, and began pawing at it. Then she grabbed it with her teeth and tossed it in the air with glee, falling over backwards, and then chased after it.
Dad smiled. Nothing made him happier than to see his little bun be so happy. It was a very Merry Christmas!
