CHAPTER 127 – Baby Talk
Abigail was busy digging when she heard Dad approaching. “Good morning sweetheart! How’s my little chestnut fluff ball this morning? Did you have a good night?” cooed Dad.
Abigail could always tell when Dad was talking to her. His voice got softer and higher. He sounded like he was talking to a baby.
“Are you a gu-bunny?” he asked.
Abigail looked up at Dad and thought, “Of course I’m a good bunny. I always try to be a good bunny! Why do you still talk to me like I’m a little baby? I’m an adult rabbit now!”
Dad laughed, “I’m sorry, Abigail. I know you’re a grown up bunny. But you’ll always be my little baby girl, no matter how old you are. You’re so tiny and cute! I just love you!”
Abigail wondered if all bun parents talked to their bunnies that way. She lowered her head for a pet and thought, “That’s OK, Dad. I don’t mind. I like being your little girl.”
Abigail wonders why Dad talks to her like she's still a baby.
