Belinda Says Hay: “Midwest BunFest Is Next Weekend”

Belinda the spokesrabbit blog_Midwest BunFest Is Next Weekend

Hello. It's Belinda.

I'm supposed to write about Midwest BunFest today. But first I have an Abigail update.

In case you missed it last week, Abigail the novelist has been very sick.

I'm not allowed to talk about her personal medical issues. But you can read what happened in her blog.

Waiting for news is the hardest part.

Every morning after breakfast I walk upstairs to the dining room. That's where my roommate works on her laptop.

I stare at her until she notices me. I stare for a long time. That's because I can sleep with my eyes open.

Finally she'll say, "OK, OK, Belinda. I'll call him."

She reminds me that California, where Abigail lives, is three hours "behind" Pittsburgh.

I know what time it is in California. Abigail and I have to coordinate our schedules every week. For meetings.

Today, "Dad" told my roommate that Abigail is putting up a good fight. She's a feisty dwarf rabbit. The vet office found out what that means.

So far that's all I know for today.

My roommate has been extra nice through all of this. Today at lunch she even gave me a pinch of alfalfa "on the side." She said not to worry.

But later I heard her on the phone telling someone that Abigail is "still not out of the woods."

This is why I get into a mood. The last thing I want to think about is poor Abigail in the woods. She's either at the vet office or at home where she belongs.

Either way she's getting the best care in the world.

Abigail and her Dad want to thank everyone for the good wishes and get well messages.

OK. Back to the news about Midwest BunFest.

Midwest Bunfest is Saturday, October 23, from 9:30 am to 5 pm  at
Northland Performing Arts Center on 4411 Tamarack Blvd, Columbus, OH 43229.

It's organized by Ohio House Rabbit Rescue. They do an A+ job in my opinion.

Small Pet Select is a sponsor again for 2021, which marks the 10th anniversary of this event.

If you're anywhere near Columbus, Ohio, don't miss it. If you're far away you can also fly there.

I wish I could go. My roommate says we have to stay home this year. It's not fair in my opinion but she won't budge.

In the meantime, I'm trying to find some gift cards so I can "bid" on the mixed media art created just for Midwest BunFest.

Have you seen these art pieces?

They are called "Bunny Blue" and "Chocolate Hare" and they are donated by an artist named Lisa Edwards for a fundraising auction.

100% of the winning bids will be divided equally between Ohio House Rabbit Rescue and Columbus House Rabbit Society.

You can see "Bunny Blue" and "Chocolate Hare" and learn how the auction works by visiting the Midwest BunFest page.

I hope you can go.

Sincerely,

Belinda
