Belinda Says Hay: “Mother’s Day Gift“

Belinda Says Hay spokesrabbit blog, "Mother's Day Gift" May 11, 2025

Hello. It's Belinda.

First I want to wish a big "Happy Mother's Day" to everyone who celebrates.

It's the perfect time to say thank you to your favorite mom. Or to give yourself something nice if you're the mom.

My roommate tells me humans like bread. So I hope you get a delicious roll or croissant or "whatever" today. Sneak a second one while nobody's looking.

Now I want to talk about last week's blog. If you missed it, I called it "The Tornado."

You can read it here.

I have to warn you, it's a long one. All about the tornado that went over our house.

I didn't mean to "go on and on" but I was still wound up, if you know what I mean.

By the way it was not "technically" a tornado. Per my roommate.

Sure sounded like one to me.

Anyway, I want to thank everyone who sent me so many nice comments after reading my blog. Sounds like a lot of you had the same storm blow through your town.

That was a big storm. Too big in my opinion.

Thank you also for telling me about your favorite tree. My roommate said a lot of trees fell on power lines all over Pittsburgh. People lost electricity for days.

OK enough about the fake tornado.

Today's blog is a quick one. That's because it's about an experiment. For Mother's Day.

Little Fang's in on it. And she "recruited" the English too.

Every year, we try to get our roommate a special gift. She's not our "mom" but she takes good care of us. My mother's back in New Zealand.

The problem is we don't have any cash. Also it's hard to know what our roommate would like best.

One year on Easter we gave her blueberries, which was not easy to "pull off." Next thing we know she gave them to a bird.

This year we're trying something new that doesn't require any money at all. We're just going to be extra quiet and tidy all day.

That's our gift.

Our roommate can take the day off. No need to sweep the floor. Or fuss with messes around our water bowls.

In fact she won't have to "handle" any type of rabbit mischief at all.

I'll let you know how it goes.

Are you celebrating Mother's Day? Let me know what you're up to.

And if you like bread.

Sincerely,

Belinda
