Hello. It's Belinda.
I heard "on the grapevine" that Midwest BunFest was a big success last weekend.
The event was held in Columbus, Ohio. The whole thing is organized by the Ohio House Rabbit Rescue.
Did you go? If so, tell me about it in the comments.
I didn't go. No ride.
And my roommate was off on a "mystery trip."
So I was stuck at home.
But I have been "snooping around" at the photos.
I stole this one of Jack In The Bag's roommates from the Midwest BunFest Facebook page.
They staffed the Small Pet Select table.
I don't see Jack in the Bag in this photo but I see a lot of goodies.
Such as different flavors of healthy snackers. A bag of premium hay. White paper bedding. My Belinda's Blend herbal mix.
They even put one of our hand-made hay mangers on the table.
Looks like they did an excellent job. "Way to go."
My roommate got home on Sunday night. Still no word about where she went.
The nice thing is she brought us a few boxes of loops. Said it was "straight from the loop people." Whatever that means.
The other good news is that she didn't leave us home alone.
She had a petsitter move in.
Can you believe that one?
I don't know the petsitter's name but I recognized her. I stayed at her house a few years ago, when my roommate went away for a week.
I don't want to say anything negative about what happened last weekend. The petsitter did the best she could. I don't want to get her in trouble.
But I noticed she forgot to break my treats in half. I like to pretend I'm getting two treats even if they are actually half-treats.
It might not make sense but it's just part of my routine. It makes sense to me and my roommate plays along.
Also the petsitter was 15 minutes late with breakfast. On Saturday and Sunday.
You might think 15 minutes is not a big deal but keep in mind what is happening next weekend. I'm very nervous about my meals being on time right now.
Last but not least. Petsitters are not supposed to play favorites but that's exactly what happened.
I was snoozing behind the couch on Saturday afternoon when I heard it.
"Do you want some more mint?"
The petsitter. She was upstairs on the bedroom level. Talking to the English.
"How about cilantro?"
I couldn't believe what I was hearing.
"And here's some fresh apple branches. I cut them especially for you."
I'm going to tell you something right now. Little Fang and I do not get herbs in the middle of the day.
Or special apple chew sticks.
Obviously the English was the "teacher's pet" once again.
My roommate is always baby-talking him. And giving him extra treats.
Well the petsitter pulled the same nonsense all weekend. I could hear it through the vents.
I'm not going to complain to my roommate.
The petsitter gave us plenty of hay and food and fresh water. She tidied up Little Fang's pen and helped me with my fur. She asked me about work, which was nice.
But the way everyone goes "lala" over the English. I will never understand it.
Come on.
Sincerely,
Belinda
