Hello. It's Belinda.
Little Fang and I would like to wish you "Happy Halloween" with a special poem.
We wrote it together, down here on the bottom level. I hope you will read it to the rabbits and other non-humans in your house.
It's called "Trick or Treat."
"Trick or Treat"
Knock knock! On the door.
The kids want something sweet.
My roommate gives them candy
when they yell "Trick or Treat!"
Rap rap! On the door.
She doesn't miss a beat.
"Your costumes are so cute!" she says.
They just say "Trick or Treat!"
Creak creak! Says the floor
overhead. We hear her feet.
Little Fang and I think "Come on."
Maybe we would like a treat.
Thump thump! On our floor.
We do it once. Then we repeat.
She ignores us and it's just because
we don't say "Trick or Treat!"
But we cannot reach the doorbell.
We can't stand on the stoop.
If she walked down here she'd notice
that we're thinking "Trick or Loop!"
We do not sneak out after dark
because the night could not be blacker.
If we did we'd hit the door
and yell out "Trick or Snacker!"
