CHAPTER 170 – Everybun Needs a Hobby
Dad watched as Abigail dug furiously at the carpet by the entrance to her bolt-to-spot. “Whatcha doin'?" he asked. Abigail thought, "I'm making the entrance bigger, so I can dive through if I need to!" Every morning, Abigail worked at this for an hour. Not only was it a good cardio workout, but it also helped wear down her nails. Fortunately, the spot was out of sight, so Dad didn’t mind that she had dug a hole right through the carpet to the wood floor underneath.
Later on, Dad heard some paper and cardboard tearing. He looked down the stairs to Bentley's burrow. Bentley was chewing and ripping at the old magazines and cardboard boxes in the closet. "Time to make my burrow a little bigger!" he thought. Dad had placed boxes of old magazines in the closet. Since it wasn't anything he valued, Bentley could dig and rip to his heart's content.
Meanwhile, more ripping and tearing sounds came from inside the starship Bunnyprise. Dad had taken an empty Small Pet Select hay box and cut a couple of small semi-circle holes in it, just big enough for a rabbit to fit through. Hobo was in “bunstruction mode." He sat inside the box and attacked the box like a rapid-fire machine gun, making the holes bigger so he could fit through them easier.
Dad chuckled. Everybun needs a hobby to keep them from getting bored. The trick was finding the right hobby for each bunny.
