Chapter 73 - Love Buns
Enzo and Merlot snuggled next to each other, as they often did in the evenings. Enzo lifted his head and looked up at Merlot, who was sitting up. “Merlot, I wuvs you,” he said. Merlot looked down at Enzo and replied, “I love you, too, Enzo!” She gave him some kisses on his head.
Enzo said, “I glad the bun angels brought you here! When I saw you, it wuv at first sight!” Merlot said, “Me, too! I thought you were such a handsome guy when I saw you! I’m glad Dad and Abigail let me stay!” Merlot remembered snuggling beside Dad when he said, “If you want to stay, you’re going to have to win over Enzo and Abigail.” Winning over Enzo was easy. It took a little longer to win Abigail’s trust.
Before long, though, the three buns got along well. After Abigail passed away, Merlot and Enzo bonded and became inseparable. Wherever one went, the other was sure to follow. They ate together, they napped together. And even if there were two identical treat platters, they would share the same one.
They were two love buns – bonded for life.
