Chapter 292 - Happy Christmas
Abigail watched Dad bring down the boxes from the attic, one-by-one. The first one was marked “Abigail’s Tree.” The next one was marked “Enzo’s Tree.” Then came “Bentley’s Tree” and “Mobo’s Tree,” followed by a box marked “Ornaments.” Dad was in a chipper mood. Christmas carols played on the stereo and he sang along with them.
As he passed by Abigail’s exercise pen, she looked up and thought, “You’re in a good mood!” Dad set down the box with Abigail’s tree and climbed inside the pen with her. “Well, of course!” he replied, as he gave her some pets,“Last year at this time, you had been diagnosed with Thymoma and there didn’t seem to be a cure. I was worried that it might be our last Christmas together. But here we are, about to celebrate another Christmas together, and you’re all better! That’s the best Christmas gift I could ever hope for! You mean the world to me. I love you!”
Abigail thought, “Me, too! I’m glad to be here with you. Thanks, Dad. You’re a good bun dad!” Abigail looked forward to another magical Christmas.
