Chapter 75 - A Happy Girl
It was early morning. All was quiet at the House of Buns. Enzo was thirsty. He took a long drink from the water bowl. Suddenly, he heard the pitter patter of footsteps approaching. Enzo looked up.
Merlot came bouncing over to him, executing a binky as she landed next to him. “Hi Enzo!” she exclaimed, “How are you? Isn’t it a great day? I just love being here at the House of Buns. We’re so lucky to live here. Fresh greens. Fresh hay. Fresh willow. Plenty of room to run zoomies. And a dad who loves us.” Merlot was a happy little girl.
Enzo agreed, “Ya, we lucky!” and went back to drinking water. Merlot sat for a moment, taking it all in. Then she added, “And, I have YOU! I’m so glad!” She flopped down beside her boyfriend. Life was good.
