Chapter 71 - Man Dusting
Hobo looked up as balls of fur rained down. Strands of cobwebs trailed behind. A dust cloud filled the air.
Company was coming, so it was time to do a deep clean. Being a house full of bachelors, Dad dusted the way men dust – with power tools! He used a cordless leaf blower to dislodge all the cob webs in the ceiling and blow off all the dust and hairballs that had collected on the beams.
He opened the door so Mocha and Hobo could leave if they wanted to. Mocha hid under the couch, but Hobo stayed out to watch. Having been raised outside in his early days, Hobo was used to the noise of the leaf blower and was non-plussed by the whole scenario.
Once he had cleaned the ceiling, Dad blew off the counters, couch, and tables. “OK, guys, I’ll be back after the dust settles,” he said.
About a half hour later, Dad returned. Hobo watched as Dad vacuumed up all the fur and dust on the floor. Then, he wiped up any remaining dust on the counters and shelves.
“OK boys, I’m done,” said Dad, “You can go back to napping.” Mocha and Hobo snuggled up together on their sleeping rug. Hobo asked, “Why do you think Dad did that? We’re just going to shed some more.” Mocha replied, “I dunno. Must be a hooman thing. But if it makes him happy, let him have his fun.”
