Chapter 85 - The Polite Treat Beggar
It was early in the morning. Still dark outside. Bentley sat quietly inside his Small Pet Select castle in Dad’s bedroom. Unlike the other buns, who were up all night running around in the other parts of the house, Bentley stayed quiet to let Dad sleep.
Bentley heard a rustling sound. He raised one ear. Dad tossed around a bit in bed. Was he awake? Bentley zipped through his tunnel and over to the side of the bed. He stood up on his back feet and placed his front paws on the side rails of the bed and peered up. He thought about jumping up on the bed, but he didn’t want to wake Dad if he was still asleep.
Dad had woken up early. He felt a gentle tap on the bed. “Is that you, Bentley?” he asked. He rolled over and flipped on the light. Looking over the edge of the bed, he saw Bentley’s cute little face staring up at him. Bentley thought, “As long as you’re awake, could I haves a treat?”
Dad made it a point to always be prepared and have the next treat ready. He reached over to the night stand and grabbed a piece of dried pineapple and handed it down to Bentley. Bentley grabbed it from Dad’s fingers with his teeth, being careful not to bite him in his excitement. “Thanks, Dad,” he thought, as he nibbled on his treat.
Dad smiled and said, “You’re such a good boy.”
Finished with his treat, Bentley ran over to his foraging ball for a nibble of willow and a chew of hay. Dad reached over and turned off the light. “Love you, Bentley,” he said, as he rolled over and drifted back to sleep.

Bentley politely waits for Dad to wake up before he begs for a treat.
