Chapter 90 - Test Model
Enzo and Merlot watched Dad set up a table in the living room. He added some fake snow, a log, and then a huge backdrop that looked like a winter forest. It was not Enzo’s first time around the block. He knew what Dad was up to. It was time for the annual holiday portrait photos!
But then something strange appeared. Dad brought in a giant reindeer. Enzo had never seen that before! He and Merlot ran over to investigate. He looked up at Dad and wondered, “What dat is?”
Dad explained, “Well, I always thought it would be a cute scene to have a rabbit looking up at a reindeer for one of the holiday portraits.” Dad had found the reindeer at a Christmas sale last year and stored it all year for this.
“Enzo, you wanna be my test model?” asked Dad. Enzo was always game to help Dad. He thought, “Ya, sure. I do dat.” Dad gently lifted Enzo up onto the table and placed him with his front paws on the log. He got an up close look at the reindeer as he stared right at its face.
Enzo turned and looked at Dad with his camera and thought, “Really? I dunno. Dis look too fake. Not many ways to pose, eider.” Dad took the photo and looked at it. Enzo was right. It wasn’t as cute as he had hoped.
“You’re right, Enzo,” said Dad. “I guess I’d better go back to the drawing board. Thanks for the help.” Dad placed Enzo back on the floor. Enzo ran back over to Merlot. Enzo said, “I tell Dad it not a good idea.” Merlot agreed, “It look kinda scary to me!”
"Really, Dad?" Enzo is not too sure about Dad's idea for rabbit portraits.
