Hello friends! It’s pumpkin season! October has come which means we can be very vocal about pumpkin love. Little mama and I have been deep into fall fun for a while now but I decided to let the calendar move to October before spreading the pumpkin juice all over the blog.
Okay, nobody is drinking pumpkin juice! Don’t get your pants in a knot. I follow all of the Small Pet Select health rules, don’t worry. Sometimes I just get a little poetic. This brings me to the most important discussion point for today and that is snacks!
Pumpkin Snackers In The House
Thanks to my friends at Small Pet Select, we guinea pigs can have pumpkin treats too with their Pumpkin Healthy Snackers. These are a nice mix where you get the comforting taste of hay combined with the fresh fall taste of pumpkin together in a nice little treat.
It’s actually not that little though. Quite a large treat! Sometimes it’s best to break the pumpkin snackers up.
Something for all the little cavy trick-or-treaters. We don’t get any cavies trick-or-treating at our house, but maybe you do where you live! I’ll make sure we have a few extra pumpkin snackers on hand just in case though.
Last week I got to explore the pumpkins. The actual pumpkins. Little Mama set up a pumpkin patch at our house and running around them was thrilling.
More fun for me of course. Little Mama would love to explore pumpkins three times her size if she could. The world is more exciting when you’re small.
The weather here in San Diego doesn’t get chilly like it does in other places in the fall but I think the warm weather puts the smell of pumpkins in the air even more.
Later this month we will cut the pumpkins open and take out all the seeds. Big Mama cuts faces in them and before we set them out on the porch we have a photoshoot.
We did this last year and it was my favorite. Do you know why? Because I sat in the pumpkin and while I was waiting for Big Mama to get the perfect shot I could taste the pumpkin.
I wonder if the pumpkin will taste the same this year.
Have a great wheek cavy friends! And get yourself some pumpkin.
