CHAPTER 244 – NYE Party
It was New Years Eve. Dad much preferred staying home with the rabbits than going out to some party. He spread out a festive red fleece on the coffee table and unpacked the box of rabbit toys and announced, “Hey, Abigail, your friend Jack In the Bag is throwing a New Years Eve party for you. He couldn’t be here, so he sent a bunch of rabbit party favors from Trianglerabbits.”
To tell the truth, Abigail wasn’t big on rabbit toys – or parties, for that matter. But Turbo was. He hopped up onto the coffee table to check things out. He gave each toy a sniff and a nibble. He thought, “Wow! That’s a lot of stuff. Hey guys, party on deck! Come up and check this out!”
Abigail hopped up onto the table and gave the party favors a sniff. “Hmmm,” she thought, “They smell pretty good.” She started nibbling on it. “They taste good, too!” Surprise, surprise. Even Abigail liked these rabbit toys!
Then, Enzo came bounding up onto the coffee table like a bull in a china shop, causing the other two rabbits two scatter. He gave each toy a sniff and then started munching on each one. He thought, “Hey, these are good! I like them!” He continued to munch.
Soon, the New Years Eve party was underway. In between chewing on the toys, Enzo and Turbo chased each other as they always did. And Abigail steered clear of them.
Then the countdown on the TV began. “Ten. Nine. Eight. Seven. Six. Five. Four. Three. Two. One. Happy New Year!” As Aude Lang Syne started, the boys continued to play.
Dad gave his little girl a pet and a kiss and said, “Happy New Year, little one. I’m so glad we had another year together and I look forward to spending another year with you.” Abigail was glad, too.
Abigail thought, “Too bad Jack In the Bag couldn’t be here with us. But he sure knows how to throw a good party!”
Turbo announces, "Party on deck! Come up and check it out!"
