CHAPTER 123 – To The Moon and Back
Both Dad’s and Abigail’s eyes were closed as he gently massaged her head. They were communing with each other.
As he finished, Dad opened his eyes. It was late at night. A full moon cast a soft glow on his chestnut brown fluffball. Abigail was zoned out, her chin resting on the floor.
“You are so adorable,” he swooned, “I love you to the moon and back.”
Abigail opened her big brown eyes and batted her eye lashes. “What does that mean?” she wondered.
Dad explained, “You see the moon up there?” Abigail looked up and saw the bright white ball.
“It’s a long way away – a lot of miles,” he continued, “And I love you that many miles and more! It just means I love you a lot!”
“That must be one of those weird human expressions,” she thought. It didn’t really matter to her though. Abigail was very practical. She already knew Dad loved her a lot. She could tell just from his actions!
