Hello. It's Belinda.
There’s a lot going on in today’s blog.
First, there’s some happy news.
Then some not so happy news. But it ends up OK.
Then at the end I'm going to ask you for a favor.
OK here's the first part of the blog.
There's a big anniversary coming up next week.
It's for a rabbit named Eleanor.
A year ago she was sleeping under bushes and cars.

She was just a baby.
Here's a better look at her.

If that doesn't raise your "BP" I don't know what will.
Rabbits belong indoors with their roommates.
Come on.
The good news is that my roommate and her friends set up some traps to catch her. The neighbors helped too.
Eleanor was suspicious and gave them the "runaround."
But eventually she went into one of the traps.
That was about a year ago. And now Eleanor lives with one of the humans who set and checked the traps.
When that human gets home from work, she has a little "welcome committee" waiting for her.

That's right.
Eleanor has her own sofa. How do you like that.
She also has a second roommate. He works at home and Eleanor naps under his desk in the afternoons.
You might be wondering how she survived on the streets. Last year, I invited Eleanor to write a "guest blog" to tell her side of the story.
It's called "Co-blog with the Stray Rabbit."
I hope you have time to read it. Eleanor is super smart.
She's also lucky. Except for the part where her family opened the door and told her to go live outdoors.
This makes my ears hot if you want to know the truth.
And speaking of that. Now it's time for the unhappy news.
One of the neighbors sent a photo to my roommate.
She asked if this rabbit was a "wild bunny."

Are you kidding me right now.
I don't know who made this young rabbit live out on his own but if I find out there's going to be a scene.
Anyway the good news is that Eleanor's roommates trapped him right away.

He is at a local rescue now, looking for a new family.
"Indoor only."
This is ridiculous.
Now it's time to ask you for the favor.
A lot of rabbits end up outdoors. I don't want to think about it and probably neither do you.
But some of you sent your own stories to me.
I'm so glad you all landed in good homes.
And I hope you will help me to get other rabbits off the streets and onto the sofa, where they belong.
Here's what to do:
Read this blog by my roommate. It's called "How to Catch a Stray Rabbit."
And then share it with everyone you know who likes rabbits. Whether or not they live with one.
It's good to be prepared. Just in case.
Especially this time of year.
Sincerely,
Belinda
